Superintendent Conrado Garcia of West Oso Independent School District has resigned effective June 23, 2022 according to a statement released to the Crónica.
69 year old Conrado Garcia was a retired Moody High School principal when he accepted to become the superintendent for West Oso Independent School District in 2016, which has enrollment of more 2,000 students. Garcia has dedicated more than 40 years in education and now wants to spend more time with his family.
According to several board members, they are confused of Garcia’s resignation because a budget workshop is coming up and the board needs to prepare for next school year without a superintendent. Garcia mentions in his resignation letter to the board that his resignation is both personal and professional.
The school board will began searching for a new superintendent.
