Pedestrian struck by vehicle on S. Staples Street; Police search for driver

On Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at around 6:30 p.m. the Corpus Christi Police and fire department were dispatched to the 3400 block of S. Staples Street for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

When paramedics arrived they found a male in his 40’s that had been struck by two vehicles. The first vehicle that struck the man had fled from the scene. The second vehicle, a maroon Dodge Ram, stayed at the scene and had front end damage on the hood.

The male victim was rushed to a local hospital while paramedics performed CPR. Medics were able to get a heart beat back. Paramedics say the man has life threatening injuries.

Police began to search for the driver who struck the pedestrian and fled. A description of the vehicle was not immediately announced. The 3400 block of S. Staples Street was block off from traffic as investigators gathered evidence. This is a developing story,
