One man is dead Sunday after being brutally gunned down at a gambling room on Weber Road near Gollihar Road. The Corpus Christi Police Department was dispatched to the 4500 block of Weber Road at approximately 4:05 a.m. When police arrived, they found a 33 year old male with a gunshot wound outside the gambling room.
The 33 year old man was transported to the hospital, where he passed away. Police are working a murder case at the gambling room. The man who passed away has been identified as 32 year old Conrad Garcia. He was a father of two children and working as the security guard for the establishment.
Police gathered evidence at the murder scene until 12:30 pm on Sunday afternoon. The grieving family of Conrad Garcia was at the scene also asking hard questions on why their loved one was brutally gunned down in cold blood at the gambling room. Police did not release much information on any suspect or vehicle identity other than it was robbery and two men went in ski masks and gloves. No arrests have been made in connection to the murder at this time.
A person who wants to stay anonymous says they were inside the gambling room when the murder took place and that 32 year old Conrad Garcia was the security guard for the gambling room. It’s still unclear on what lead up to the shooting but police marked dozens of areas in the parking lot of the gambling room with spray paint.
This is a developing story and we will provide more information when police release the remaining information in regard to the suspect or suspects on the loose. The Corpus Christi Crónica is asking for prayers for the grieving family who is demanding answers and justice for their loved one. A candle light vigil has been scheduled and will be held at 8 pm by family and friends of Conrad Garcia in front of the American Bank Center on Sunday.
