Mo Meaux’s Restaurant to host shrimp eating competition

Attention, world! Shrimp eaters will compete at Mo Meaux’s Restaurant in a shrimp eating competition on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 3 p.m. The restaurant is located at 1933 South Padre Island Drive near Greenwood. Major League Eaters are warmly encouraged to sign up for the chance to compete in this legendary event.

Those who have not tried shrimp in a recreational, civilian sitting have simply not lived. Which sounds very judgey but so be it.This year will be a challenge for top competitive eaters to enter to win Corpus Christi’s Shrimp Eating Championship in addition to a $150 prize

To enter the competition, there is a $20 fee by 2:30 p.m. the day of the competition or you can call (361) 257-1770. Contestants will have 20 minutes to consume the most amount of shrimp packed with Mo Meaux’s famous sauce. The contestant will be given a 2 pound bag to start with while supplies last. The Corpus Christi Crónica will be broadcasting the competition on Facebook Live.

All applicants must be 18 years of age or older and fully acknowledge and understand the inherent dangers and risks associated with participating in an eating contest. The applicant further acknowledges and understands that the Mo Meaux’s Restaurant coordinates with event sponsor(s) to select and approve eligible participants, and that Mo Meaux’s Restaurant shall decide, at its sole discretion, whether an applicant is eligible to participate in any eating event, and/or related activities. Mo Meaux’s Restaurant may revoke an applicant’s eligibility to participate in the eating contest, or related activities, at any time, for any reason, at its sole discretion. Mo Meaux’s Restaurant and the event sponsors reserve the right, at any time, to change any and all details concerning the event, including, e.g., time, duration, location and prize structure.
