Man shot dead at Vibe Hookah Bar identified

A man was shot dead in a shooting in the city’s south side Sunday morning.

It happened in the parking lot area of Airline Road and Holly Road around 3:00 a.m.

Corpus Christi police said they located a 30-year-old man at a nearby hospital after shots were fired at The Vibe. He was transported to the hospital by witnesses, where he was later pronounced dead. Family has identified the victim as Andrew “AJ” Edward’s.

Andrew “AJ” Edwards was shot and killed on Sunday, September 26, 2021 around 3 a.m on Airline and Holly Road.

Police overheard the shooting while in the area and responded immediately. Police arrested one male suspect in thr Kleberg Bank parking lot with a gun. It is still unclear what the motive was for the shooting. Police found more than seven gun shell casings in the parking lot, including blood. Several vehicles were hit with random bullets.

More than 50 vehicles were detained for more than 3 hours leaving many club goers without transportation until the homicide investigation ended.
