Shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday night, police responded to a family disturbance on the south side of Corpus Christi. The person who called 911 told officers one member of the family was threatening to kill the others on the 4900 block of Shadow Bend Drive.
The family members ended up leaving the scene and police showed up looking for the man. The man ended up showing back up to the home sometime later.
When officers found the man, who they say had a gun and pointed it at officers after a traffic stop. Police officers shot the man multiple times in the legs and abdomen.
Witnesses say they heard ten to fifteen shots and saw a person laying in the street on Shadowbend Drive near Braesvalley Drive. Some neighbors thought they were fire crackers. One Ring surveillance video camera captured the audio of approximately 30 shots at a nearby apartment complex.
