Security guard faces murder charge after killing at illegal S. Alameda game room that was operating after midnight with an un-certified peace officer.
A man who worked as a security guard at an illegal game room faces a murder charge after police say he shot 28 year old Cedric Hall in what one witness said was a robbery that gone wrong.
Robert Johnson, 29, is accused of killing Cedric Hall about 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the game room on the 4800 block of South Alameda Street, near Airline Road. He was arrested Tuesday around 9:30 p.m.
According to police, dispatch recieved a shooting call at approximately 4:30 a.m. more than 45 minutes after an exclusive video shows the time stamp at exactly 3:45 a.m. of the shooting. In the video, the suspect shoots Cedric Hall in the back as he exited the gameroom where he fell paralyzed. More than a dozen gunshots were fired at Cedric Hall and shell casings were also found outside in the parking lot where possibly could have been another shooter.
Johnson was booked into Nueces County jail on charges including murder. More charges could be expected for others involved. He’s being held on a bail bond at $100,000.
