Man arrested for Capital Murder at Windrush Apartments

On Saturday May 14, 2022, at 12:36 pm officers were dispatched to 4300 Kostoryz for a welfare concern at Windrush Apartments. When the officers arrived, they attempted to contact the occupants and when this was unsuccessful apartment staff were contacted to assist. The staff opened the apartment, and it was at this time that the officers located two deceased women, Micaela Sudell and Erica Larracuente.

Detectives with the Robbery Homicide Section of the Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene and quickly began to investigate the Capital Murder. As the investigation progressed the detectives were able to identify 37-year-old Jason Lara as the offender who also lived with the victims temporarily. Jason was found to have an outstanding Nueces County Sheriff Office warrant of arrest for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm with a $50,000.00 bond. Officers located Jason at the 2100 block of Airline and placed him into custody for the outstanding warrant.

Detectives with the Corpus Christi Robbery Homicide Section were able to secure a warrant for Capital Murder with a $1,000,000.00 bond which was served to Jason Lara while he was at the Nueces County Jail.
