Frankie J and DJ Kane return to Corpus Christi for “Latin Takeover” concert

Internationally known star Frankie J and Dj Kane, known globally for their singing, Latin R&B and urban sounds, returned to Corpus Christi for the “Latin Takeover” concert at Concrete Street Amphitheater.

The Mexican-American artists, who all originated from the Kumbia Kings, created by Selena’s brother A.B Quintanilla, graced the stage at Concrete Street Amphitheater on August 6, 2021. At the concert depicted below, Frankie J says that after leaving the Kumbia Kings, he went solo. He than recognized Ed Ocanas from Hot Z 95.5 FM radio station as the one who launched his hit solo album in 2003 with the song “Don’t Want To Try”.

The star quickly rose to worldwide prominence later that year after collaborating with artist Baby Bash with another hit song “Suga Suga”. In 2013, Frankie J released his new album, Faith, Hope y Amor on May 28, 2013. The album was nominated for the 56th annual Grammy Award under the category of Best Latin Pop Album. In March 2017, he scored another radio hit song with “Si Una Vez (If I Once)” which was a collaboration with Play-N-Skillz, Wisin, and Leslie Grace.

In returning to live music post pandemic-shutdown, Frankie J brought his old and latest releases to life that dazzled fans. Other opening acts consisted of Corpus Christi’s very own El Dusty, P3, Ice from 4 Corner Hustlers, Dapper Don, Smoke Beatz, Drippy Dru, and Dj Fame.
