4 year old boy killed by mothers boyfriend; both arrested for Murder

On Friday, June 5, 2021 a 4 year old child died from severe injuries to the abdomen at an apartment complex located on the 6500 block of Patti Drive.

Five year old Knox Longoria passed away Friday, June 5 with severe injuries to the abdomen at Gulf Breeze Apartments.

The child victim has been identified as 4 year old Knox Longoria. Knox’s 27 year old mother, Bethany Bernal, has been arrested and booked into the Nueces County Jail on Injury to a Child charges. Her bail bond is set at $500,000.

Ezekiel Javier Ramirez arrested for Murder

Bernal’s boyfriend Ezekiel Javier Ramirez was also arrested and charged for Murder in connection to Knox’s death. His bond is set at $750,000.

No details on how Knox Longoria’s injuries took place, but Child Protective Service specialized investigators and the detectives with the Corpus Christi Police Department worked on the case.

The Crónica talked to Knox’s biological father, A.J. Longoria and he tells us that he lives in San Antonio and was unable to care for his two children due to losing his ability to walk after 11 surgeries and being hospitalized for over 6 months woth complications of COVID-19. Media spokesman, Jonn Lennan, at the Department of Family and Protective Services says they are conducting a joint investigation with Corpus Christi Police Department.
