11 dogs found dead crammed in back of U-Haul truck with no ventilation

On Saturday, August 21, 2021 police responded to a call of dead dogs found at a shopping center on the 5500 block of Everhart Road. When police arrived they found 11 German Shepards in grave condition. Witnesses tried to spray water and ice to help hydrate the animals, but unfortunately most didn’t survive.

Elias Caudillo and Renee Caudillo were charged with cruelty to non-lifestock animals and possession of a controlled substance after police found Methamphetamine inside their rental truck.

According to closes sources, both the husband and wife had been squatting in an abandoned home in the Flour Bluff area for more than a year. Sources also disclosed that their had been dozens of reports made to the Corpus Christi Animal Care Services for neglect and abuse of the dogs, but none of the reports had materialized.
